35-Year-Old Man Assaulted in Saket After Objecting to Woman’s Harassment at 4 AM
Man assaulted in Saket for stopping eve-teasing of woman waiting for cab.
A 35-year-old man was allegedly beaten by four men in South Delhi’s Saket area after he tried to stop them from harassing a woman, police said on Wednesday. The incident took place in the early hours of the morning and has raised concerns over women’s safety and public violence in the city.
According to police, the incident occurred around 4 am when a 27-year-old woman, who works in the private sector, stepped out of her residence to go to work. She was waiting for a cab to pick her up for her morning shift when the incident unfolded.
Police sources said four men, travelling on two scooters, approached the woman and allegedly began eve-teasing her. The men were reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time. Their behavior made the woman uncomfortable and distressed as she waited alone on the road.

A man who was present nearby noticed the situation and objected to the men’s conduct. When he tried to intervene and stop them from harassing the woman, the four men allegedly became aggressive. They reportedly attacked him and beat him up before fleeing the spot. The injured man was later helped by locals, and the police were informed about the incident. He sustained injuries in the assault and was provided medical assistance. The woman was not physically harmed, police said.
Delhi Police have registered a case and are examining CCTV footage from the area to identify and trace the accused. Efforts are underway to determine the exact sequence of events and confirm the role of all four men involved. Officials said strict action will be taken against those responsible. The incident once again highlights the risks faced by women during early-morning or late-night travel and the dangers faced by bystanders who step in to prevent harassment.
