2 Dead, 1 Critical: Man Stabs Siblings and Sister-In-Law In Rage During Family Meal
A Sitapur man stabs brothers and sister-in-law over a dispute; two are dead.
A dinner-table dispute in a joint family turned deadly late Wednesday night in Thakurpurva village, where two people were killed and another critically injured in a stabbing attack, police said. The incident occurred under the Naimisharanya police station limits and prompted an immediate police response.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police Durgesh Singh, the accused, identified as Shyamu (37), allegedly attacked his elder brother Harish (40) and younger brother Ramu with a sharp-edged weapon after a minor altercation during a family meal. The situation escalated quickly, leading to a violent confrontation inside the house.
Police said Harish’s wife Poonam was also stabbed when she tried to intervene and stop the attack. All three victims sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Community Health Centre in Naimisharanya for treatment.

Doctors declared Poonam brought dead on arrival, while Harish later succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Ramu remains in critical condition and has been referred to the district hospital for advanced medical care, officials said.
Family members alleged that Shyamu acted in a sudden fit of rage. Police have registered a case and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination. Teams have been formed to trace and arrest the accused, who fled the spot after the incident, and further investigation is underway.
