The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Adampur police station after a group of tourists visiting the ghat reportedly got into an argument with security personnel deployed at a ramp gate. The situation escalated quickly, resulting in a physical scuffle in which the teenager, identified as Rajesh Chintu, sustained serious injuries.
Police said the injured minor was immediately taken to a divisional hospital for medical treatment, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. Authorities confirmed that the exact sequence of events leading to the confrontation is still under investigation. The incident has triggered concern in the area, which is a popular tourist and religious destination attracting large crowds, especially during weekends and festive periods.
Kotwali Assistant Commissioner of Police Vijay Pratap Singh stated that four individuals have been detained in connection with the case. He added that preliminary information suggests the dispute began over an issue at the entry ramp, though officials have not yet clarified the specific cause of the argument. Police teams reached the scene shortly after being alerted and secured the area to prevent further escalation.
