15-Year-Old Drives Car Into Pedestrians in Jalgaon, Injures Five and Flees Scene

A 15-year-old lost control of a car in Jalgaon, injuring five pedestrians before fleeing.

A speeding car allegedly driven by a 15-year-old boy rammed into pedestrians and vehicles on Ramanandnagar Road in Maharashtra's Jalgaon on Wednesday night, leaving five people injured. The incident triggered panic in the area as the vehicle reportedly went out of control and plowed into people and vehicles along the roadside.

According to reports, the teenager lost control of the car, causing it to veer off its path and crash into several individuals. A total of nine people were caught in the accident, with five sustaining injuries of varying severity. One of the victims, a young man riding an electric two-wheeler, suffered a serious leg fracture in the collision.

Local residents and bystanders rushed to help the injured immediately after the crash. All five victims were taken to a nearby private hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment. Doctors are monitoring their condition, while authorities continue to assess the extent of the injuries.

The accident sparked anger among residents, with a large crowd gathering at the scene shortly after the incident. Witnesses said chaos unfolded on Ramanandnagar Road as locals confronted the aftermath of the crash and demanded action against those responsible.

Fearing the crowd's reaction and the possibility of being assaulted, the minor driver allegedly abandoned the vehicle at the scene and fled. The case is being treated as a hit-and-run incident, and efforts are underway to locate the teenager.

Police have taken cognisance of the matter and launched an investigation. Officials said teams are searching for the minor and gathering evidence related to the crash. Authorities are also expected to examine how the teenager gained access to the vehicle and whether any legal action will be taken against the vehicle owner for allowing a minor to drive.
