Madhya Pradesh To Recruit 22,500 Police Personnel In Phased Law And Order Expansion
Madhya Pradesh to recruit 22,500 police personnel in phased drive.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced a major recruitment drive to strengthen the state’s police force, with plans to appoint more than 22,500 personnel over the next three years. The announcement was made following the Inspector General’s (IG) Conference held at the Police Headquarters in Bhopal, where law-and-order preparedness and policing reforms were discussed.
The Chief Minister said the recruitment process comes after a gap of nearly eight years and will be implemented in a phased manner. He stated that around 7,500 vacancies will be filled each year, and a newly established Police Recruitment Board will oversee the selection process to ensure transparency and efficiency in hiring.
Officials said the recruitment initiative is aimed at significantly enhancing the operational strength of the Madhya Pradesh Police. The move is also intended to improve response capacity, modernise policing systems, and address emerging challenges such as cybercrime, trafficking, and road safety enforcement across the state.

CM Yadav praised the performance of the state police, highlighting their coordination with central forces in tackling internal security threats, including the eradication of Naxalism from parts of Madhya Pradesh. He said sustained recruitment and capacity building are essential to maintaining effective law and order and public confidence in policing institutions.
The Chief Minister also linked the initiative to upcoming major events such as the Simhastha-2028 religious gathering, stating that a strengthened police force will be crucial for managing large-scale crowds and ensuring security arrangements for millions of devotees expected to attend.
He further instructed senior police officials to adopt victim-centric policing, improve responsiveness to public grievances, and take time-bound action against crime. The recruitment drive is expected to generate significant employment opportunities while supporting the state’s broader goal of building a more modern and efficient policing system.
