Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy Renews Demand For Lokesh’s Resignation, CBI Probe Into DSC Recruitment

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday reiterated his demand for Education Minister Nara Lokesh’s resignation and a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in the DSC 2025 teacher recruitment process. Addressing a press conference at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, Jagan questioned the silence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh over the allegations raised by the Opposition.

Jagan alleged that irregularities in the recruitment process were emerging one after another and accused the government of weakening the investigation. He questioned why the preparation and supervision of DSC examination papers were placed in the hands of a single individual and raised questions over the introduction and subsequent changes to government orders, including GO Nos. 4 and 47. He also alleged that the government was attempting to protect those responsible for the reported lapses.

A major point raised by the YSRCP chief concerned appointments made under the sports quota. Jagan questioned how 372 posts could be filled without conducting an examination and alleged that later government orders were introduced after the recruitment process had been completed. He further claimed that some candidates received jobs on the basis of sports participation certificates for tournaments that, according to associations cited by him, had not taken place.

Jagan also cited individual cases to support his allegations, including appointments linked to Kho-Kho and other sports certificates. He claimed that some certificates were questionable and that officials failed to act despite concerns over their authenticity. He further alleged irregularities in the allocation of marks and reservations in certain cases, including appointments involving candidates from Kurnool and Kadapa districts.

The YSRCP president alleged that the recruitment process was compromised at an early stage because responsibility for preparing the question bank and conducting the examination was assigned to the same person. He claimed that an outsourced worker gained access to the examination paper, secured the first rank and was later removed from the merit list. Jagan also alleged that evidence related to the reported paper leak and offers of jobs was not pursued adequately.

Jagan further accused the Naidu-led government of misleading the legislature and attempting to cover up the allegations surrounding DSC 2025. He claimed the controversy was affecting unemployed youth who had spent considerable time preparing for competitive examinations and questioned the government’s handling of the recruitment process. He reiterated that the allegations warranted an independent CBI investigation and renewed his call for Lokesh to step down as Education Minister.
