Yogi Adityanath Disburses Rs 1.32 Lakh Crore Loans For UP MSMEs
CM Adityanath supports MSMEs with massive loans, toolkits, and employment letters on Vishwakarma Jayanti.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath disbursed loans worth Rs 1.32 lakh crore to bolster the state’s Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector during the Vishwakarma Expo-2025 inauguration on Wednesday, coinciding with Vishwakarma Jayanti. Highlighting the sector’s significance, Adityanath noted that Uttar Pradesh hosts India’s largest MSME ecosystem, with 96 lakh units employing approximately two crore people directly, alongside three crore in agriculture.
The event also saw the distribution of toolkits to 12,000 artisans under the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana and appointment letters to 111 junior assistants, reinforcing the state’s commitment to empowering its workforce.
Adityanath emphasized the pivotal role of Uttar Pradesh in achieving India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047, as set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “A developed India is possible only when Uttar Pradesh develops, with self-reliant districts, towns, and villages,” he stated, linking the state’s progress to national goals.
He recalled India’s historical economic dominance, contributing over 25% to the global economy 300 years ago, driven not only by agriculture but also by robust industrial clusters and enterprises. The chief minister credited the state’s One District One Product (ODOP) scheme, launched on January 24, 2018, for revitalizing traditional industries, a model now adopted nationwide.
Since assuming office in 2017, the Adityanath government has prioritized MSMEs as the backbone of Uttar Pradesh’s economy, branding and promoting traditional enterprises under ODOP to enhance their global competitiveness. The scheme, which promotes unique products from each district—like Varanasi’s silk sarees or Moradabad’s brassware—has boosted exports and job creation, contributing to the state’s economic resurgence. Adityanath highlighted that the MSME sector’s growth aligns with efforts to make Uttar Pradesh a trillion-dollar economy, supporting India’s broader development ambitions.
