WTMF’s AI Bestie to Redefine Emotional Support
India’s kindest AI friend arrives soon
WTMF (What’s The Matter, Friend?), an innovative AI companion from Hyderabad-based Knockverse Private Limited, is set to launch its beta between late August and early September 2025, promising a new kind of emotional support for India’s Gen Z. Unlike typical chatbots, WTMF prioritizes presence over productivity, offering a judgment-free space for users to vent, rant, or reflect.
Co-founder Kruthivarsh Koduru, a psychology graduate, emphasizes, “We’re not building the smartest AI, but the kindest.” Alongside co-founder Shreyak Singh, whose Flashoot platform recently hit ₹22 Cr valuation, the team—including Flutter developer Aman Singh and operations lead Vikas KV—has crafted an AI that understands Hinglish and local phrases like “mood off hai.” With chat, voice support, mood tracking, and AI journaling, WTMF feels like texting a friend, not a bot.
Born from personal experiences of loneliness, WTMF addresses India’s mental health gap with culturally fluent responses, with plans for multilingual support. Over 3,000 users are on the waitlist, with buzz growing on Instagram, Discord, and Reddit. The team invites collaborators to join via www.wtmf.ai or hello@wtmf.ai, aiming to reshape AI as a compassionate companion.
