Visa, Passport Services For Indians In UAE Suspended For Five Days Starting June 26
Applicants advised to plan around temporary service suspension.
Indian passport, visa and attestation services across the United Arab Emirates will be suspended for five days from June 26 to June 30 as the Indian government transitions to a new outsourced service provider for consular operations in the country. The temporary halt is part of a planned changeover aimed at streamlining the delivery of services to Indian citizens and other applicants.
The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi announced that routine passport, visa and attestation services would resume on July 1 under a new operator. As part of the transition process, existing service providers will stop accepting fresh applications after the close of business on June 25. Applicants planning to renew passports, apply for visas or seek document attestation have been advised to complete their submissions before the deadline to avoid delays.
Under the new arrangement, Al Hind Tours and Travel LLC will take over the delivery of outsourced passport, visa and consular services across the UAE from July 1. The company will replace BLS International Services Ltd. and SGIVS Global, which currently manage these operations on behalf of Indian diplomatic missions in the country.

During the five-day suspension period, regular appointments for passport renewals, visa processing and attestation services will not be available. The temporary disruption is expected to affect thousands of applicants, given the large Indian expatriate population residing in the UAE. Authorities have urged individuals with urgent documentation requirements to make arrangements in advance or seek emergency assistance where necessary.
Despite the suspension of routine services, the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai will continue to provide emergency passport, visa and attestation services for genuine urgent cases. Officials said the arrangement is intended to ensure that individuals facing emergencies, travel-related issues or critical documentation needs are not left without support during the transition period.
The UAE is home to one of the largest overseas Indian communities, making consular services a vital resource for millions of residents. The transition to a new service provider is expected to improve operational efficiency and service delivery once the new system becomes fully operational. Indian missions have assured applicants that emergency assistance will remain available throughout the suspension period through designated phone numbers, WhatsApp channels and email support, while routine services are scheduled to resume under the new framework from July 1.
