UP Congress President Ajay Rai Hospitalised After Fainting at Lucknow Home

UP Congress president Ajay Rai admitted to Medanta Hospital after collapsing due to sodium deficiency and elevated blood pressure.

Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Rai was hospitalised after he reportedly fainted at his residence in Lucknow on Friday evening. Party leaders said he was immediately taken to Medanta Hospital, where doctors examined him and began treatment. Officials later confirmed that his condition is stable and he is recovering under medical supervision.

According to Congress spokesperson Anshu Awasthi, Rai had been actively engaged in party programmes throughout the day before the incident. He had also visited the airport and attended political activities, indicating a busy schedule prior to his collapse. He reportedly lost consciousness after returning home, prompting swift medical attention.

Doctors at the hospital said preliminary tests revealed that Rai was suffering from low sodium levels along with elevated blood pressure. Medical staff provided immediate treatment after his admission to the emergency ward. Hospital authorities said his health improved significantly after intervention, and he is now conscious and able to communicate.
