UP CM Addresses Fuel Shortage Rumours Amid Middle East War Concerns

UP CM assures citizens fuel supplies are stable, avoid panic.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday addressed growing public concerns over alleged shortages of LPG, petrol, and diesel, calling the rumours “unfounded” and urging citizens not to panic amid tensions in the Middle East.

Speaking at the inauguration of a software technology park in Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister noted that people were unnecessarily lining up to buy LPG cylinders due to fears triggered by the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict. He stressed that households which previously used one cylinder a month are now seeking refills within five to six days, creating artificial demand pressures.

Adityanath advised citizens to remain mentally prepared in case the conflict prolongs but cautioned against spreading or believing misinformation. “During national challenges, both the government and the public must work together. That is true patriotism,” he said, urging support for any measures taken in the national interest.

The Chief Minister assured that LPG supplies would continue to reach homes through proper registration and directed district administrations to ensure smooth home delivery, making it unnecessary for people to crowd gas agencies. He also warned that some individuals are deliberately spreading misinformation to create panic and disruption.

Appealing to the public, Yogi Adityanath said that succumbing to rumours can harm the country’s image and raise questions about national responsibility. He urged people to purchase fuel only when needed and to cooperate with government authorities to maintain order.

He added that the overall situation in India remains normal, with festivals like Navratri and Ram Navami being observed across the country, even as instability persists in parts of the world due to international tensions.
