Tesla’s Delhi Showroom Set to Electrify India

Tesla opens second India showroom in Delhi on August 11.

US electric vehicle giant Tesla is accelerating its expansion in India, announcing the grand opening of its second showroom in Delhi on August 11, 2025, following its debut in Mumbai. The company teased the launch on X, posting, “Arriving in Delhi - stay tuned,” with a graphic confirming the date. This move marks Tesla’s deeper push into the world’s third-largest automobile market.

Tesla’s first Indian showroom opened on July 15, 2025, at Maker Maxity Mall in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), alongside its first charging facility. The Delhi showroom will showcase the Tesla Model Y, the only model currently available in India, priced at Rs 60 lakhs for the Rear-Wheel Drive variant and Rs 68 lakhs for the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive. Customers can add the Full Self-Driving (FSD) package for an additional Rs 6 lakhs, offering advanced driver-assistance features powered by eight exterior cameras, including a new front-facing camera.

The Model Y, a midsize electric SUV, comes in six color options—Stealth Grey (standard), Pearl White Multi-Coat, Diamond Black, Ultra Red, Quicksilver, and Glacier Blue (at extra cost)—with black or white interior themes and a five-seat configuration. The Long Range variant boasts a 622-kilometer range and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, while supercharging delivers up to 267 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes. Features like power-reclining, heated, and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, and a hands-free power trunk enhance comfort and convenience.

Deliveries and registration are currently limited to Mumbai, Delhi, and Gurugram, with pricing varying by state due to local taxes. Deliveries are slated to begin in Q3 2025. Tesla’s entry into India, with its blend of cutting-edge technology and performance, signals a transformative step for the country’s electric vehicle market, poised to challenge traditional automotive giants.
