TCS Launches Oracle AI Data Platform Lab And CoE In Kolkata With Oracle

India’s first Oracle AI Data Platform Lab launched by TCS in Kolkata for enterprise AI adoption.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Friday inaugurated India’s first Oracle AI Data Platform Lab and Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Kolkata, marking a significant step in strengthening enterprise-focused artificial intelligence and data transformation capabilities. The facility has been developed in collaboration with Oracle and is aimed at helping organisations adopt AI-driven systems and modernise their data infrastructure.

The lab, located at Delta Park Lords in Kolkata, is designed to support businesses in overcoming common data and analytics challenges, including fragmented data systems, slow processing cycles, limited scalability of AI solutions, and operational inefficiencies. According to the company, the centre will serve as a hands-on environment where enterprises can experiment with and deploy advanced AI-based applications.

TCS said the new facility will leverage the Oracle AI Data Platform, which integrates Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Autonomous AI Database, and OCI Enterprise AI. This combination is intended to make enterprise data AI-ready and enable organisations to build and scale AI-powered applications, automation tools, and analytics solutions more efficiently.

The IT services company also announced plans to expand this model, stating that similar Oracle AI Data Platform Labs and Centres of Excellence will be set up in four additional Indian cities over the next three years. The initiative is part of TCS’s broader strategy to strengthen its AI engineering and advanced analytics capabilities across industries.

According to Sudipto Ray, Vice President and Global Head of Oracle Practice at TCS, the centre is structured to speed up the process from ideation to experimentation and eventually full-scale deployment of AI solutions for enterprise clients. Oracle India’s Head of Alliances and Channels Technology, Arvind Mehra, added that the collaboration is expected to help customers convert data into actionable business outcomes through AI-driven insights and automation. TCS also highlighted its growing talent base in the domain, noting that it has a centralised team of around 26,000 Oracle-skilled professionals across India supporting client projects in AI and data transformation.
