Tata Steel rewards 11,446 employees with a massive ₹303.13 crore bonus for FY 2024–25.
Tata Steel unveiled a substantial bonus payout of Rs 303.13 crore for its employees for the 2024-25 financial year, formalized through a memorandum of settlement signed with the Tata Workers’ Union (TWU) in Jamshedpur. This significant disbursement, which includes Rs 152.44 crore allocated for 11,446 employees in Jamshedpur divisions, including the tubes unit, underscores the company’s commitment to its workforce.
The agreement, signed in the presence of Jharkhand’s Deputy Labour Commissioner Arvind Kumar, marks a continuation of Tata Steel’s tradition of rewarding unionized employees, even those exceeding the salary threshold for mandatory bonuses under the Payment of Bonus (Amendment) Act, 2015. The bonus structure for 2024-25 offers a minimum payout of Rs 39,004 for employees with full attendance and a maximum of Rs 3,92,213 based on actual attendance, ensuring a fair distribution across eligible divisions and units.
Tata Steel’s leadership, including CEO and Managing Director T V Narendran and Chief People Officer Atrayee Sanyal, alongside TWU representatives like President Sanjeev Kumar Choudhary and General Secretary Satish Kumar Singh, formalized the agreement, reflecting a collaborative approach to employee welfare. This payout reinforces Tata Steel’s legacy of prioritizing its workforce, fostering goodwill, and maintaining strong labor relations.
The announcement comes as a significant morale booster for Tata Steel’s employees, particularly in Jamshedpur, a key hub for the company’s operations.
