Tata Motors Reports 59% Rise In Passenger Vehicle Sales For July 2026

Automaker posts robust passenger vehicle sales growth in July.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. reported a strong performance in July 2026, with total passenger vehicle sales rising 59 per cent year-on-year to 63,760 units across domestic and international markets. The growth was driven by sustained demand across the company's product portfolio, particularly its electric vehicle (EV) range, which continued to record robust sales. The latest figures also indicate that Tata Motors has maintained its sales momentum following a strong performance in the previous month.

Domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at 62,611 units in July, marking a 58 per cent increase from 39,521 units sold during the corresponding month last year. The company also recorded a marginal improvement over June 2026, when domestic sales reached 62,076 units. Meanwhile, international sales rose to 1,149 units compared with 654 units in July 2025, and also exceeded the 1,007 units exported in June, reflecting steady growth in overseas markets.

Electric vehicles remained the standout performer during the month. Tata Motors sold 15,217 EVs across domestic and international markets in July, registering a 114 per cent increase from 7,124 units sold a year earlier. The figure also surpassed the 14,800 EVs dispatched in June, highlighting continued consumer demand for the company's electric mobility offerings. The strong EV performance reinforces Tata Motors' strategy of expanding its presence in the rapidly growing electric passenger vehicle segment.

The July sales figures build on the company's strong showing in June, when Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles recorded total sales of 63,083 units, representing a 69 per cent year-on-year increase. During that month, the company had indicated that localised supply constraints were affecting the production and delivery of the Sierra SUV despite healthy booking demand. It said measures had already been initiated to improve component availability and accelerate deliveries from the second quarter.

The latest performance underscores Tata Motors' continued growth across both conventional and electric vehicle segments as it strengthens its position in the Indian passenger vehicle market. With domestic demand remaining resilient, exports showing gradual improvement and EV adoption continuing to accelerate, the company appears well-positioned to sustain its growth trajectory while addressing supply-chain challenges and expanding its global footprint.
