Supreme Court Assigns PwC to Find New Builder for Stalled Noida Supernova; Homebuyers Rejoice

Supreme Court panel selects PwC to find new builder for stalled Supertech Supernova; homebuyers cautiously optimistic.

Hundreds of homebuyers who invested in Supertech Supernova are finally seeing signs of relief after years of uncertainty, following a major decision taken by a Supreme Court-appointed Empowered Committee. The long-delayed luxury real estate project in Noida’s Sector 94, which has remained incomplete for more than a decade, may soon return to construction activity with the appointment of a new developer.

The committee recently selected PricewaterhouseCoopers, commonly known as PwC, as the transaction advisor for the project. PwC will now oversee the process of identifying and onboarding a new builder to complete the stalled development. The move has renewed hopes among hundreds of families who invested their life savings in the ambitious housing project launched by Supertech.

Supertech has been facing insolvency proceedings, leaving several of its housing projects incomplete and thousands of buyers stranded. However, homebuyers associated with the Supernova project believe the latest development could finally help revive construction and lead to possession of their flats after years of delays, legal battles and financial stress.

Many buyers had invested in the project believing it would become their retirement home or long-term financial security. Sixty-two-year-old homebuyer Anil Kundra described the decision as one of the most important breakthroughs in years, saying it has restored hope that the stalled work can finally move forward. Several other buyers also expressed optimism that a financially stable developer could help complete the remaining construction.

Located in Sector 94 near the Delhi-Noida border, the Supernova project was marketed as a premium mixed-use development featuring luxury apartments, office spaces and commercial areas. Despite its prime location and ambitious plans, prolonged delays and Supertech’s financial troubles left the project unfinished. With the Supreme Court-appointed panel now moving toward selecting a new builder, homebuyers are hoping the long-stalled dream project may finally reach completion.
