South African Journalist Shares ‘Wonderful Experience’ Covering BRICS Summit In India

South African Journalist Praises India’s BRICS Summit Experience

Covering the BRICS Summit in India has been a “wonderful experience”, Ayanda Holo, President of TV BRICS Africa, said while highlighting the scale of the event and the large number of delegations and business representatives attending it. Holo spoke about the experience of journalists covering the summit and the opportunities created by the gathering of leaders, officials and business representatives from participating countries.

Holo said the summit had brought together a significant number of international delegations, reflecting the growing importance of BRICS as a platform for engagement among member countries. The presence of journalists and representatives from different nations has also provided an opportunity to observe discussions around diplomacy, trade, investment and other areas of cooperation during the high-level gathering in India.

According to Shadrach Hollow, a journalist with TV BRICS Africa, South Africa brought around 130 business owners to India for the summit. The large business delegation highlighted the importance attached to the event by South African companies and entrepreneurs. Their presence also underscored the role of BRICS meetings not only as diplomatic gatherings but also as platforms for strengthening commercial and economic connections.

The participation of business representatives from South Africa adds an economic dimension to the summit, where countries are looking to expand cooperation and identify new opportunities. Bringing business owners to India allows representatives to engage with counterparts from other participating countries and explore areas of mutual interest. Such interactions can complement the political discussions taking place among leaders and government officials.

For international journalists, the summit has also provided an opportunity to report on the interactions between participating countries and assess the broader significance of the BRICS grouping. Holo’s description of the experience as “wonderful” reflects the scale of the gathering and the opportunity to witness a major international event in India. The presence of large delegations and business communities has contributed to the wider activity surrounding the summit.

The BRICS Summit has brought together political leaders, officials, journalists and business representatives from across the grouping, creating opportunities for discussions extending beyond government-to-government relations. South Africa’s participation, including the presence of around 130 business owners, highlights the importance of economic engagement alongside diplomatic cooperation. As coverage of the summit continues, journalists and delegates from participating countries are documenting the discussions and interactions taking place in India, with Holo describing the experience of covering the event as a positive and memorable one.
