Severe Haemorrhage, Skull Fracture: Autopsy Confirms Fatal Injuries in Dwarka Crash

The autopsy shows severe haemorrhage and a skull fracture caused Sahil's death in the Dwarka crash.

An autopsy report has revealed the extent of injuries suffered by 23-year-old Sahil Dhaneshra, who died earlier this month in a multi-vehicle collision in Dwarka allegedly involving a minor driver. The fatal crash occurred at 11:57 am on February 3 near Lal Bahadur Shastri College under the Dwarka South police station limits.

According to the post-mortem findings, the victim died due to severe haemorrhage caused by cranio-cerebral injuries. The report noted a blood clot beneath the scalp and a fracture in the left temporo-parietal region of the skull, along with brain swelling and lung damage. Doctors recorded the cause of death as haemorrhagic shock resulting from extensive head trauma and injuries to vital organs.

The examination also documented multiple fractures in the left fourth, fifth and sixth ribs, with around 100 ml of blood found in both pleural cavities, indicating major chest trauma. A massive subdural haematoma and hemorrhagic contusions were observed in the brain, while clotted blood was present in the oral cavity. Investigators said the injuries were consistent with a high-impact road accident.

Police said the collision involved a Scorpio allegedly driven by a 17-year-old without a valid licence, Sahil’s motorcycle, and a parked Swift Dzire taxi. The taxi driver, Ajit Singh, was injured and treated at IGI Hospital. The juvenile was apprehended and initially sent to an observation home before being granted interim bail by the Juvenile Justice Board on February 10 to allow him to appear for Class 10 board examinations.

The victim’s mother, Inna Maakan, has alleged that the Scorpio had multiple previous traffic challans, many related to overspeeding. Recounting the aftermath, she said her son was found lying badly injured on the road and had reportedly been crying for help. Police officials have assured the family of a fair investigation as the probe into the fatal crash continues.
