Seafood Boom Alert! IISS-2025 Poised to Double India’s Exports to $15 Billion
India’s seafood exports set to surge with global trade fair IISS-2025.
The 24th India International Seafood Show (IISS-2025), Asia’s leading seafood trade fair, is set to transform global trade dynamics from September 25 to 28 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan. Integrated into the Government of India’s flagship World Food India 2025, the event will host participants from over 15 countries—including the United States, European Union, Vietnam, UAE, Germany, Belgium, Japan, and China—cementing India’s position as a seafood superpower.
Organized by the Seafood Exporters Association of India (SEAI) during its 50th anniversary, IISS-2025 will feature over 260 stalls showcasing cutting-edge innovations in seafood processing, aquaculture, and logistics. The event includes technical sessions on sustainability, skill development, and market expansion, alongside roundtables addressing challenges like U.S. tariffs and rising production costs. A reverse buyer-seller meet, led by the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), will connect Indian exporters with global buyers from 132 countries, fostering lucrative trade deals.
SEAI President Pawan Kumar stated, “As we celebrate our golden jubilee, IISS-2025 will strengthen India’s global seafood dominance and open new markets.” Secretary-General K N Raghavan added, “Our motto, ‘Sustainably Harvested, Humanely Sourced,’ drives our commitment to ethical practices. This platform will tackle innovation and sustainability head-on.”

India aims for a USD 15 billion export target by 2030, a 100% leap in six years.
IISS-2025 will feature live demonstrations of automated processing technologies and eco-friendly packaging, expecting over 60,000 attendees, including policymakers and investors. Sustainability initiatives, such as SEAI’s certifications for responsible aquaculture, will take center stage, addressing global demands for ethical sourcing.
