Robert Vadra Faces ED Heat! Slams Government for Vendetta Politics
Robert Vadra Faces ED Heat in Haryana Land Deal Probe, Slams 'Political Vendetta'
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned businessman Robert Vadra, brother-in-law of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, on Tuesday in a money laundering case tied to a 2008 land deal in Haryana’s Shikohpur.
Vadra, 56, labeled the summons a “political vendetta,” alleging the BJP misuses agencies to silence him and his family, particularly when he advocates for minorities.
Vadra walked 2 km from his Sujan Singh Park residence to the ED’s Delhi headquarters, where his statement was recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

“I’ve spent hours with the ED before, shared thousands of pages, yet they keep raking up cases,” he told reporters, vowing full cooperation. Summoned on April 8 but absent then, Vadra sought a new date for this session.
The probe centers on Skylight Hospitality Pvt Ltd, linked to Vadra, which bought 3.5 acres in Shikohpur, Gurugram, for Rs 7.5 crore from Onkareshwar Properties in February 2008. Allegations swirl around the land’s mutation, reportedly completed within hours, prompting a 2018 Haryana Police case. The ED is scrutinizing financial irregularities, suspecting money laundering.
Vadra, husband of Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, has faced ED questioning in prior cases. A 2023 chargesheet named neither Vadra nor Priyanka as accused but detailed their land transactions in Amirpur, Haryana, between 2005-2010, involving real estate agent H L Pahwa. The ED alleged Vadra didn’t fully pay for 40.08 acres bought and sold, hinting at off-the-books cash dealings.
Congress supporters, chanting against PM Modi’s government, decried the ED’s actions as politically motivated. Vadra’s defiance underscores rising tensions as the probe deepens.
