PM Modi invited Swedish companies to invest across five key sectors in India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited Swedish companies to expand their footprint in India, positioning the country as a major global hub for manufacturing, innovation and clean energy during an address to European industry leaders in Sweden.Speaking at the European Round Table for Industry (ERT), Modi said India’s economic transformation was being driven by what he described as a “reform express” moving at full speed.
He highlighted opportunities for foreign investors across five key areas, including telecommunications, digital infrastructure, clean energy, advanced manufacturing and research and development. The Prime Minister emphasised that India’s policy framework under initiatives such as ‘Make in India’, the National Green Hydrogen Mission and the National Critical Mineral Mission is designed to encourage long-term industrial partnerships rather than a traditional buyer-seller trade relationship.
He said these programmes open up wide-ranging opportunities in sectors such as electronics, artificial intelligence, mobility, urban transformation, healthcare and life sciences.Modi also underlined the potential for India to emerge as a global hub for innovation, urging companies to participate in the country’s next phase of technological growth. He said the combination of India’s large consumer base, young workforce and expanding infrastructure made it one of the most attractive destinations for investment and manufacturing globally.
