PM Modi highlights 12 years of governance focused on improving middle-class ease of living.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday highlighted the central government’s efforts to enhance the “ease of living” for India’s middle class, stating that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government has been working consistently over the past 12 years to meet their aspirations. His remarks came amid a social media campaign marked with the hashtag #12YearsOfSakshamMiddleClass, reflecting on governance initiatives aimed at improving everyday life.
In a post on the platform X, PM Modi described the government’s work for the middle class as a “privilege,” emphasising their contribution to nation-building. He said that policy focus over the last decade has increasingly centred on improving access to opportunities, infrastructure development, public services, healthcare, education, and urban living conditions, while also reducing financial and administrative burdens on citizens.
The Prime Minister also reshared content from the government-backed platform MyGovIndia, which outlined several improvements in connectivity and infrastructure. It highlighted that internet penetration has expanded significantly across both rural and urban regions, supported by over 103 crore connections and reduced data costs, enabling wider access to digital services, education, and financial tools.
