Major Drug Bust in Assam: 3 Arrested with 43.5 Kg Opium Worth ₹2.5 Crore

Assam Police arrested three suspected drug peddlers in Karbi Anglong district on Friday, seizing 43.5 kg of opium valued at ₹2.5 crore, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced.
The breakthrough came during a routine vehicle check at 6th Mile, where authorities intercepted a vehicle and uncovered the massive drug haul. “Three people were arrested in connection with this case,” Sarma posted on X, highlighting the state’s ongoing #AssamAgainstDrugs campaign.
This seizure adds to a series of successful anti-narcotics operations in the region, with Karbi Anglong police having seized drugs worth crores in recent months.
