LuLu Group Chairman Briefs PM Modi on Ensuring Uninterrupted Food Supplies to Gulf

LuLu Group ensures continuous food supply amid Gulf region challenges

LuLu Group Chairman Yusuffali MA met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday to brief him on the company’s initiatives ensuring uninterrupted food supplies to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia.

During the meeting at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Yusuffali highlighted the steps LuLu Group has taken to maintain steady availability of essential food products across its GCC markets, which cater to a large Indian expatriate population. The discussion centred on the logistical measures, supply chain resilience, and recent strategies implemented by the retail conglomerate to prevent disruptions caused by regional instability.

Prime Minister Modi acknowledged the significance of such initiatives, noting their impact not only on economic stability but also on the welfare of the Indian diaspora in the Gulf. LuLu Group’s efforts, according to the statement, include streamlining imports from India, securing alternative supply routes, and enhancing storage and distribution infrastructure to ensure consistent access to Indian-origin food products.

The briefing underscores the growing importance of private-sector collaboration in maintaining food security in international markets, particularly during periods of regional uncertainty. LuLu Group, which operates a vast network of hypermarkets and retail outlets across the GCC, continues to play a key role in supporting the dietary needs of millions while fostering India-Gulf trade ties.

The company’s proactive measures demonstrate how strategic planning and close coordination with government authorities can help mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring that essential goods reach consumers without interruption even amidst global crises.
