L&T Secures Massive Rs 15,000 Crore Deal to Revolutionize India’s Power Sector!
L&T wins ₹15,000 crore Adani Power deal for 8 thermal units.
Larsen & Toubro (L&T), a leading Indian multinational in EPC projects, has clinched an "ultra mega" contract from Adani Power to establish eight thermal power units, delivering a combined capacity of 6,400 MW. Each unit, boasting an 800 MW capacity, marks a significant step in addressing India’s growing energy demands.
The contract, valued at over Rs 15,000 crore as per L&T’s classification, will be executed by L&T Energy - CarbonLite Solutions (LTECLS), the company’s specialized division focused on advanced power and low-carbon technologies. The scope includes comprehensive design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, and commissioning of Boiler-Turbine-Generator (BTG) packages, alongside auxiliary systems and mechanical, electrical, and control & instrumentation (C&I) systems.
Subramanian Sarma, Deputy Managing Director & President of L&T, emphasized the deal’s significance: “This landmark order from the Adani Group underscores our pivotal role in strengthening India’s critical energy infrastructure amid rising demand for reliable and affordable power.”

Adani Power, part of the Gautam Adani-led Adani Group, is India’s largest private thermal power producer, with an installed capacity exceeding 18,000 MW. L&T, a USD 30 billion conglomerate, continues to drive innovation across EPC projects, high-tech manufacturing, and services globally.
