Karnataka CM unveils unbeatable edge for entrepreneurs to thrive.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is boldly declaring Bengaluru as India's undisputed tech powerhouse, surging ahead in cutting-edge fields like quantum computing and AI. He's extending a warm invitation to top industry executives for the upcoming 28th Bengaluru Tech Summit, set to unfold from November 18-20 in the city.

"Karnataka stands out as the prime destination for startups to launch and scale massively," Siddaramaiah emphasized during a special breakfast gathering hosted by the state's Department of Electronics, IT, and Biotechnology, where he engaged with around 100 business tycoons to spotlight the event.

Highlighting AI prowess, he noted that Bengaluru secures the fifth spot globally among leading AI hubs and boasts nearly half of India's AI experts, positioning it as the world's second-biggest AI talent pool.

Siddaramaiah assured that the state's forthcoming IT policy will prioritize AI infrastructure development. He traced Karnataka's forward-thinking legacy from the era of Mysuru rulers to pioneering policies like the 1997 IT framework and the recent 2024 Global Capability Centre initiative.

On quantum tech, he revealed Karnataka's groundbreaking state-level Quantum Technology Roadmap, with ambitions to emerge as Asia's premier Quantum Innovation Hub by 2035, targeting a whopping $20 billion quantum economy.

"Expect Quantum Hardware Parks, dedicated Innovation Zones, and an international Quantum Conclave right here in Bengaluru," the CM announced.

He boasted that Karnataka leads as India's top software exporter, contributing 44% of national software shipments, with the IT and ITeS sectors fueling 26% of the state's GDP. The region hosts over 875 Global Capability Centres—30% of India's total—and plans to expand by 500 more by 2029, generating 350,000 jobs and $50 billion in value.

Siddaramaiah celebrated Karnataka's vibrant ecosystem with over 18,300 startups and 45+ unicorns, vowing to elevate it further.

Introducing QWIN City, he described it as a holistic hub blending wellness, innovation, and emerging industries, designed to attract worldwide scientists, founders, and funders with specialized R&D zones and top-tier living facilities.

Additionally, a forthcoming Health City will integrate advanced medical research, biotech breakthroughs, med-tech production, and elite hospitals to cater globally.

"Karnataka aims to be the global epicenter for tackling humanity's toughest problems—from disease eradication to green energy and next-gen computing. We'll deliver the skilled workforce, facilities, and policies to drive success," Siddaramaiah stated, urging innovators and leaders to collaborate.
