#JUSTIN: 4 Kg Heroin Valued at Rs 20 Crore Seized by BSF in Jammu
BSF intercepts cross-border drug consignment, seizing 4 kg heroin in Jammu sector.
The Border Security Force (BSF) has foiled a cross-border heroin smuggling attempt along the International Border in Jammu, seizing approximately four kilograms of contraband valued at over ₹20 crore in the international market, officials said. The recovery was made during a surveillance and search operation in a border village sector.
According to BSF officials, alert troops detected suspicious movement near the border fencing and launched a swift area domination exercise. During the search, personnel recovered multiple packets of heroin concealed in the fields. Preliminary assessment indicates that the narcotics were likely pushed across the border under the cover of darkness.
The seized consignment has been handed over to the concerned law enforcement authorities for further investigation. Officials said efforts are underway to identify the intended recipients on the Indian side and to establish any links to larger drug trafficking networks operating in the region.
