#JUSTIN: 14 Arrested In Sri Ganganagar Case; Police Deny Viral Video

Rajasthan Police clarify viral video unrelated to Ganganagar case.

Public outrage continued on Sunday over the alleged gangrape of a 13-year-old girl in Sri Ganganagar, with demands growing for strict action against those involved. Police said 14 people have so far been arrested in connection with the case, including a hotel owner and two hotel managers. The investigation is continuing based on technical evidence, CCTV footage, inspection of the alleged crime scene and information provided by the victim.

Amid the outrage, Rajasthan Police clarified that a viral video showing a minor girl crying on a hospital bed alongside her family was not connected to the Sri Ganganagar case. Police said the footage was from Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh and urged people not to believe or circulate unverified claims. The clarification was issued on social media along with the blurred video and a statement released by Hardoi Police.

According to Sri Ganganagar Superintendent of Police Hari Shankar, the case came to the attention of authorities on June 22. A woman approached personnel at the RIICO police outpost and reported that her 13-year-old daughter was missing. She told police that she had returned from work on June 18 and discovered that the girl was not at home, prompting a search and subsequent police investigation.

Police later traced the minor to a hotel and rescued her during a raid conducted on June 23. The hotel operator was detained at the scene, while two employees were also taken to the police station for questioning. Investigators then began examining CCTV footage, technical evidence and other material to identify people suspected of being involved in the alleged crime.

Officials said the investigation has since led to the arrest of 14 accused. The arrested individuals include one hotel owner and two hotel managers, while police are continuing to examine the role of others linked to the case. Authorities said the investigation is being conducted using multiple sources of evidence, including the victim’s identification of suspects and inspection of locations connected to the alleged offence.

The case has triggered widespread anger and calls for swift justice, while the circulation of unrelated footage has added to confusion surrounding the investigation. Police have urged the public to rely on verified information and avoid spreading misleading videos or claims on social media. Authorities said further investigation is underway as officers work to establish the complete sequence of events and determine the role of each accused.
