Jakson Engineers’ Rs 8,000 Cr Solar Push
Jakson’s Rs 8,000 cr solar bet
Jakson Engineers, a key arm of the Jakson Group, announced a landmark Rs 8,000 crore investment to establish a 6-GW integrated solar manufacturing plant in Madhya Pradesh, marking the state’s largest solar investment to date. The facility, located at Maksi Phase II on a 110-acre site, will produce solar modules, cells, and wafers, bolstering India’s renewable energy ambitions.
The project will unfold in two phases. Phase I, with an investment of Rs 2,000 crore, will see the commissioning of 3 GW of solar modules and 3 GW of solar cells, with site activities starting within 15 days. Phase II, backed by over Rs 6,000 crore, will add a 6-GW solar wafer plant and an additional 3 GW of modules and cells. Production is set to begin with modules in May 2026 and cells in September 2026, aligning with India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision to reduce import reliance.
“This is a pivotal moment for India’s renewable energy sector,” said Sundeep Gupta, Vice Chairman of Jakson Group. Gagan Chanana, Joint Managing Director and CEO of Jakson Solar Modules and Cells, highlighted the plant’s “four-in-one” model—encompassing manufacturing, development, EPC, and O&M services. “This integrated approach ensures quality, cuts costs, and positions India as a global solar leader,” he said.

Madhya Pradesh was chosen for its central location, robust infrastructure, and investor-friendly policies. The project is expected to generate over 1,000 construction jobs and employ 1,400 people once operational, driving socio-economic growth in the region. With global solar demand surging, the facility will strengthen India’s energy security and support the nation’s 500-GW renewable energy target by 2030.
Founded in 1947, Jakson Group has evolved from diesel generators to a diversified energy leader, with six manufacturing plants, over 30 sales offices, and a global presence. This investment underscores its commitment to sustainable innovation and India’s clean energy future.
