Iran Guards Say Missiles Targeted Israel, US Bases In Kuwait, Jordan And Bahrain
Iran claims missile strikes on Israel and US bases, escalating regional tensions.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility for launching missile and drone strikes targeting Israel as well as United States military bases in Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain, according to reports carried by Iranian state television on Wednesday. The announcement signals a sharp escalation in the already volatile regional conflict involving multiple state and non-state actors.
In a statement broadcast by state-run IRIB, the IRGC said it had struck “targets in the heart of the occupied territories,” a phrase commonly used by Iranian officials to refer to Israel. The statement further claimed that the operation involved precision-guided liquid- and solid-fuel missile systems, as well as attack drones, indicating a coordinated and multi-layered offensive.
The IRGC also said that US military installations across the region were among the primary targets. These bases, located in strategically important countries such as Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain, serve as key hubs for American military operations in the Middle East. The inclusion of these sites underscores the widening scope of the conflict and the increasing risk of direct confrontation between Iran and the United States.

There has been no immediate independent verification of the extent of the damage or any casualties resulting from the reported strikes. Officials in the affected countries have yet to release detailed assessments, though earlier reports suggested heightened air defence activity and interceptions in several areas. The lack of confirmed information has contributed to uncertainty in global diplomatic and security circles.
The latest developments come amid a broader pattern of escalating hostilities, including missile exchanges, drone attacks, and military mobilisations across the region. Analysts warn that such actions could further destabilise an already fragile geopolitical environment, raising concerns about the potential for a wider regional war involving additional actors.
Diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation are ongoing, with multiple countries urging restraint and calling for dialogue. However, the IRGC’s latest claims highlight the deepening tensions and the challenges facing any immediate resolution. As the situation continues to evolve, the international community remains on alert, closely monitoring developments that could have far-reaching implications for regional stability and global security.
