Jharkhand strengthens investment and tourism outreach through global talks.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday held a series of business-to-government (B2G) meetings with global investors, industry bodies and corporate representatives as part of the second day of the National Stakeholders' Consultation 2026, with the state seeking to attract investments across key sectors including tourism, renewable energy, manufacturing, healthcare and skill development. According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), the discussions were aimed at positioning Jharkhand as an emerging investment destination by showcasing its industrial potential and identifying opportunities for long-term partnerships.

The meetings brought together representatives from international delegations, industry associations and leading businesses to explore collaborations aligned with the state's economic development goals. A delegation from Singapore, led by High Commissioner Simon Wong Wie Kuen, expressed interest in establishing long-term partnerships with Jharkhand. The discussions focused on attracting investments, setting up skill development centres and Centres of Excellence, and adapting Singapore's vocational training model to strengthen the state's workforce.

The delegation also explored collaboration in industrial and skill mapping, as well as partnerships in healthcare, medical education and research. According to the CMO, the Singapore delegation proposed preparing a comprehensive roadmap based on Jharkhand's industrial requirements and workforce needs. The initiative aims to align skill development programmes with future employment opportunities while supporting industrial expansion and enhancing the state's competitiveness in attracting global investments.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) presented proposals to strengthen Jharkhand's renewable energy ecosystem through investments in solar and wind power, smart metering, electricity transmission infrastructure, grid modernisation and digital energy management systems. The proposals are intended to accelerate the state's transition towards cleaner energy while improving the efficiency and reliability of power infrastructure.

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) outlined strategies to boost Jharkhand's tourism sector by promoting nature tourism, destination weddings, sports tourism and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism. The industry body recommended investments in tourism infrastructure, improved connectivity, destination management and visitor experiences to attract both domestic and international tourists.

Officials said the consultations also covered manufacturing, healthcare, digital infrastructure and innovation, with stakeholders highlighting the need for policy support, ease of doing business and skilled manpower to encourage sustained private investment. The interactions formed part of the state's broader strategy to diversify its economy while leveraging its natural resources, industrial base and growing infrastructure. The National Stakeholders' Consultation has emerged as a key platform for the Jharkhand government to engage with investors and industry leaders.

During the event, Chief Minister Hemant Soren reiterated the state's vision of becoming a leading destination for industry, technology and sustainable development through collaborative partnerships, policy reforms and investment-friendly initiatives. The investment outreach follows the signing of multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) during the consultation, reflecting the government's efforts to attract large-scale projects across sectors. The state expects the proposed collaborations and investments to generate employment, strengthen infrastructure and accelerate economic growth in the coming years.
