Indian Overseas Bank opens applications for 250 Local Bank Officer posts.
Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has invited online applications for 250 Local Bank Officer posts under its 2026-27 recruitment cycle. The registration process began on August 8, 2026, and eligible candidates can apply online until August 24, 2026. The recruitment is being conducted for vacancies in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat, with selected candidates appointed in Junior Management Grade Scale-I.
According to the recruitment notification, candidates can apply for a vacancy in only one state and must meet the prescribed local language requirement. The vacancies include 100 posts in Tamil Nadu, where Tamil is mandatory, and 50 posts each in Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat, requiring proficiency in Kannada, Marathi and Gujarati respectively. The state-wise merit list will be prepared separately based on category and merit.
Candidates selected through the recruitment process will be posted in the state for which they applied. The notification provides that selected Local Bank Officers will generally remain posted in their chosen state for the first 12 years of service or until they are promoted to the specified senior grade, whichever occurs earlier. Applicants are therefore required to carefully select their preferred state before submitting the application.
