Indian Embassy Coordinates With Kuwait After Citizen Killed in Airport Attack
Iranian strike on Kuwait airport kills one Indian, wounds at least 63 others.
An Indian national was killed and at least 63 other people were injured following an attack on Kuwait International Airport, according to statements issued by Kuwaiti authorities and the Indian Embassy in Kuwait on Wednesday. The incident has raised concerns about regional security as emergency services responded to the aftermath of the attack. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased Indian citizen, while investigations into the circumstances surrounding the strike remain ongoing.
Kuwait's Health Ministry said the injured were transported to various hospitals across the country for treatment. Health Ministry spokesperson Abdullah Al-Sanad stated that several victims suffered serious injuries, including head trauma, cerebral hemorrhages, amputations, and wounds caused by explosions. Emergency responders dispatched 25 ambulances to the airport to assist in evacuating the injured and providing immediate medical care at the scene.
The Indian Embassy in Kuwait expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased citizen and confirmed that it is closely monitoring developments. In a statement posted on X, the embassy said it is coordinating with Kuwaiti authorities to provide all possible assistance and support to the bereaved family as well as Indian nationals affected by the incident. Officials are also working to gather additional information regarding the condition of those injured in the attack.

The incident comes amid heightened tensions in the region, with security concerns continuing to impact several countries in the Gulf.
