Gurugram Police Yet to Question Punjab Officers in Bhagwant Mann Video Case

Gurugram police yet to question Punjab officers despite evidence in Mann case.

Police investigating an alleged fabricated forensic report linked to controversial videos purportedly featuring Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann have yet to question two senior Punjab Police officers despite reportedly possessing evidence connecting them to the case. The Gurugram Police had earlier registered a case against two men, identified as Arun and Ankit, over allegations that they created the fabricated report.

According to sources familiar with the investigation, the two Punjab Police officers include a Deputy Inspector General and a Superintendent of Police. One of the officers was allegedly referred to as “Bade Sahib” during interactions connected to the case. However, investigators have reportedly not questioned either officer so far, despite claims that evidence gathered during the probe points to their alleged involvement in meetings linked to the matter.

Investigators are said to possess CCTV footage from a Gurugram hotel where the two senior officers allegedly held multiple meetings with complainant Jaspreet Singh. Sources also claimed that hotel records show the officers stayed at the same property. Additional material reportedly includes food and beverage bills linked to the stay, which investigators are examining as part of the case.

Police are also reported to have collected vehicle registration details and CCTV footage showing vehicles arriving at the Gurugram hotel. The material is said to form part of the evidence being examined to establish the sequence of meetings and the identities of those involved. However, no official conclusion regarding the role of the two officers has been announced, and the allegations remain under investigation.

The case centres on allegations that a forensic report relating to controversial videos purportedly featuring Bhagwant Mann was fabricated. Arun and Ankit were booked for allegedly creating the report, while investigators have been examining whether others were involved in the wider chain of events. The reported evidence concerning meetings, hotel stays and vehicle movements has raised questions over the direction and pace of the investigation.

Despite the material reportedly available to investigators, the two senior Punjab Police officers have not yet been questioned, according to sources. Gurugram Police have not publicly established their involvement in any wrongdoing, and further investigation will be required to determine whether the reported meetings were connected to the alleged fabrication. The case continues to draw attention as questions remain over whether investigators will expand their questioning to include the senior officers.
