Greater Noida Bus Gang-Rape: Charge Sheet Cites Forensic Evidence, 50 Witness Statements
The charge sheet also includes an FSL report and CCTV recordings.
The charge sheet filed by Delhi Police against two accused in the alleged gang-rape of a 16-year-old girl inside a bus includes forensic evidence, biological samples and statements from 50 witnesses, officers familiar with the investigation said. The approximately 400-page charge sheet was filed on September 18, while the court took cognisance of the case on September 24.
The two accused, identified as the bus driver and conductor, have been charged under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to gang rape and criminal intimidation, along with provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Police said the forensic report prepared by the Forensic Science Laboratory has also been included in the charge sheet along with other evidence gathered during the investigation.
The incident took place on August 4 after the Class 11 student from Mainpuri reportedly boarded a bus at Pari Chowk in Greater Noida. According to police, the conductor told the girl that the bus was travelling towards Noida Sector 63. After the bus began moving, police allege that the driver and conductor sexually assaulted her.

Investigators also collected several other exhibits from the bus, including biological evidence, a piece of cloth and fingerprints. Two CCTV recordings were documented as part of the investigation, while the witness statements include accounts from members of the public who were connected to the investigation and locations associated with the bus.
Among those whose statements were recorded were a security guard, owners of two bus repair shops in Surajpur and Malakpur in Uttar Pradesh, and the victim's cousin. Police said these statements, along with the forensic findings and physical evidence, form part of the material submitted to the court through the charge sheet.
The filing marks a significant stage in the criminal proceedings, but the allegations against the two accused remain subject to judicial determination. The inclusion of DNA and other forensic material, witness statements, CCTV recordings and physical exhibits means the prosecution has placed multiple categories of evidence before the court. Further proceedings will determine how the evidence is assessed and whether the charges are established in court.
