Gautam Singhania and Family Bid Farewell to Former Raymond Chairman Vijaypat Singhania in Mumbai
The 87-year-old former Raymond chairman was cremated at Chandanwadi crematorium on Sunday afternoon.
The last rites of Vijaypat Singhania were performed on Sunday in Mumbai, with family members including Gautam Singhania paying their final respects to the veteran industrialist. The 87-year-old former chairman of Raymond Group passed away on Saturday evening, marking the end of an era for one of India’s most prominent business families.
The funeral took place at the Chandanwadi Crematorium at around 3:00 p.m., where close family members and associates gathered to bid farewell. Gautam Singhania, who currently leads the Raymond Group, was seen performing the last rites alongside other relatives, reflecting the solemn atmosphere at the ceremony.
Vijaypat Singhania is survived by his wife Ashadevi Singhania and their children—Madhupati Singhania, Shephali Ruia, and Gautam Singhania. Known for his leadership and contributions to the growth of the Raymond Group, he played a key role in shaping the company into a major player in India’s textile and apparel industry during his tenure.
