Elon Musk Praises Zuckerberg's X Post Announcing Meta's Muse Spark 1.1

Musk praises X's reach after Zuckerberg announces Meta's new AI model.

Elon Musk has praised his social media platform X as an effective place for companies to announce new products, pointing to a post by Meta chief executive Mark Zuckerberg that attracted more than 12 million views. Musk said announcements made directly by company leaders can generate greater public interest than traditional corporate press releases.

Musk highlighted Zuckerberg’s post announcing Meta’s new Muse Spark 1.1 artificial intelligence model. The announcement was posted on X on Thursday evening and had attracted about 12.5 million views by the time Musk commented on it early Friday. Musk said the level of engagement demonstrated the platform’s ability to provide significant reach for product announcements without direct promotional costs.

Zuckerberg described Muse Spark 1.1 as an upgraded agentic and coding model designed to operate at a relatively low cost. The model is available through the new Meta Model API and Meta AI. According to Zuckerberg, it is particularly strong in agentic performance, tool use and computer interaction, allowing it to complete complex tasks with reduced human involvement.

The model features a one-million-token context window and can work on long-running tasks while delegating parts of a project to multiple sub-agents operating in parallel. Meta said the system can gather information, create a plan and distribute work across specialised agents to improve speed and efficiency. It is also designed to use computer interfaces across desktop, mobile and browser environments.

Meta has also launched a public preview of its Model API, allowing developers to build applications using Muse Spark for the first time. Developers in the United States can test the model and connect it with external applications, services and tools. The company said its focus is on providing powerful agentic and multimodal AI models at a low cost.

The launch strengthens Meta’s position in the rapidly expanding artificial intelligence market, where it competes with companies including OpenAI and Anthropic. Musk’s comments, meanwhile, highlighted the growing use of social media platforms for direct corporate communication, with senior executives increasingly choosing to announce products and major updates directly to large online audiences.
