China Southern Airlines To Start Daily Delhi Guangzhou Flights From September 2026

New daily flight service strengthens connectivity between India and China amid expanding airline cooperation.

India–China aviation connectivity is set to expand further as China Southern Airlines prepares to launch daily non-stop flights between Delhi and Guangzhou starting September 21, 2026. The new route marks a significant step in restoring and strengthening air travel links between the two countries after years of fluctuating connectivity and limited direct services.

The service is positioned as a major enhancement for both business and leisure travellers, offering a more streamlined connection between India’s capital and one of southern China’s key economic hubs. According to the airline’s schedule, the route will be operated using a Boeing 737-8 aircraft, with Flight CZ359 departing Guangzhou for Delhi and the return leg operated as CZ360.

The announcement was highlighted by Yu Jing, spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in India, who shared details of the new service via an X post. The development is being seen as part of a broader effort to restore air corridors and improve people-to-people and commercial exchanges between Asia’s two largest emerging economies.

The move follows a series of gradual recoveries in India–China aviation links. China Eastern Airlines has already resumed flights between Kunming in Yunnan Province and Kolkata, while also reinstating its Shanghai–Delhi route in November 2025. These steps collectively indicate a phased revival of direct air connectivity that had been reduced in recent years.

Indian low-cost carrier IndiGo has also been expanding aggressively on similar routes, including Kolkata–Guangzhou and Delhi–Guangzhou services. The airline reported strong passenger demand, with load factors ranging between 68% and 85% on China routes in April, reflecting steady appetite for cross-border travel driven by business, tourism, and trade.

Aviation analysts suggest that the renewed push by multiple carriers reflects improving commercial confidence in the India–China corridor. The gradual reopening of key routes such as Delhi–Guangzhou is expected to support trade, corporate mobility, and tourism flows, while signalling a broader normalization of air travel between the two countries.
