#BreakingNews: Major Arms Racket Using Pakistan Drones to Smuggle Foreign Pistols into India Busted
Delhi Police dismantle a drone-assisted international arms network moving foreign pistols into India.
Delhi Police on Saturday busted a major cross-border arms smuggling racket allegedly backed by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), arresting four members of an interstate gang and seizing 10 sophisticated foreign-made pistols along with 92 live cartridges. The weapons, manufactured in China and Turkey, were being smuggled from Pakistan into India through unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) that dropped consignments at predetermined locations along the Punjab border, officials said.
The arrested individuals were identified as Mandeep, a wanted criminal from Punjab with multiple cases of murder and extortion registered against him, and his three associates—Rohan, Monu, and another accomplice—all residents of Uttar Pradesh. Mandeep is reportedly linked to the notorious Sonu Khatri gang, which has been active in organised crime across northern India. During interrogation, the accused revealed that the pistols were routed through Pakistan after being sourced from manufacturers in China and Turkey.
According to police, the smuggling module used a highly sophisticated method to evade detection: consignments were wrapped in carbon paper to bypass security scanners, then dropped by drones in border villages of Punjab. Gang members based in India were subsequently directed via encrypted messaging apps to retrieve the packages and transport them to Delhi and other parts of northern India for distribution in the criminal underworld.

The bust is being seen as a significant blow to ISI-backed efforts to flood India with illegal firearms ahead of potential escalation in gang wars and terrorist activities in Punjab and Delhi-NCR. A senior Delhi Police officer told reporters that further investigation is underway to identify additional receivers and trace the complete supply chain, with central agencies now involved in probing the Pakistan link.
