Blue Energy MD Highlights Growing Risks For Diesel-Dependent Business Models
Diesel reliance increases business exposure to fuel price volatility.
Blue Energy Motors Managing Director Anirudh Bhuwalka has said that diesel-dependent businesses are increasingly exposed to fuel price volatility, warning that reliance on conventional fuel sources is becoming a key operational risk for fleet operators. He also projected that the next five years will mark a rapid transformation in India’s heavy-duty trucking sector, driven by the shift toward cleaner mobility solutions.
According to a statement from the company, Blue Energy Motors has crossed a major operational milestone of 100 million kilometres in cumulative fleet running across India. The company said this performance has contributed to the reduction of more than 30,000 tonnes of carbon emissions, an amount it equates to the carbon absorption capacity of nearly 1.2 million trees.
Bhuwalka said the milestone reflects a broader shift in the commercial vehicle ecosystem, where sustainability and operational efficiency are becoming increasingly central to business decisions. He noted that what was earlier considered an emerging concept in green-fuel trucking is now gaining traction among fleet operators evaluating both environmental impact and cost efficiency.

He further said that recent fluctuations in global energy markets have underscored the vulnerability of diesel-reliant logistics networks. According to him, businesses that remain entirely dependent on diesel are more exposed not only to price shocks but also to supply uncertainties, making alternative fuel adoption a growing necessity.
Looking ahead, Bhuwalka said India’s trucking industry is poised for one of its fastest transformations in the next five years. He highlighted the company’s focus on LNG-based heavy-duty trucks designed for long-haul transport, alongside electric vehicle solutions supported by corridor-based charging infrastructure and battery-swapping systems aimed at reducing downtime and improving fleet productivity.
