BJP: Congress Orchestrating Chaos Over Bihar Voter Row
Dharmendra Pradhan says opposition using lies to stir unrest.
In a fiery rebuttal to the opposition’s latest protests, the BJP on Monday accused Congress and its allies of orchestrating a deliberate campaign to create instability and anarchy in the country. The protests, which erupted over alleged “vote theft” and the revision of voter rolls in Bihar, were dismissed by the ruling party as baseless and politically motivated.
Addressing reporters at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan took direct aim at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, calling his allegations against the BJP and the Election Commission a “lie” designed to mislead the public.
Pradhan claimed that the opposition’s agitation was not a spontaneous reaction but a “well thought out strategy” to undermine the democratic process. He accused Gandhi of echoing the rhetoric of “big forces” that, according to him, seek to weaken India’s democracy from within.
The minister alleged that Congress and its partners were deliberately questioning the voter roll revision process in Bihar to enable “intruders” to be added to the electoral rolls, thereby distorting the mandate of the people.
The BJP leader challenged the opposition to bring their concerns to Parliament rather than attempting to, in his words, “create fear” among citizens. “You cannot weaken Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the people’s decision, or the country’s constitutional system through such tactics,” Pradhan asserted.
These remarks mark yet another escalation in the increasingly bitter exchanges between the BJP and opposition parties as the political temperature rises ahead of upcoming elections.
