Amazon Halts 21 Air Cargo Flights After Deadly Miami Crash Raises Fresh Aviation Safety Concerns

Amazon has temporarily suspended cargo operations with Miami-based carrier 21 Air following the fatal crash of an Amazon Prime Air Boeing 767 freighter at Miami International Airport, according to a report. The decision comes as US investigators examine the circumstances surrounding the accident, which killed five people and has raised questions about the aircraft's landing speed, heavy weather and other factors that may have contributed to the crash. The incident occurred on September 6 when Prime Air Flight 7598 overran Runway 30 at Miami International Airport during heavy weather. The aircraft, a 32-year-old Boeing 767-300, had previously operated as a passenger aircraft before being converted for cargo service.

It was being operated by 21 Air for Amazon's Prime Air network when the accident occurred, bringing renewed scrutiny to the safety of contracted cargo operations.
