Airtel Rs 549 Postpaid Plan Removed; Rs 699 Plan Now Available for Upgrade
Airtel removes Rs 549 plan, raising upgrade options.
Bharti Airtel has quietly removed its Rs. 549 individual postpaid plan from its offerings in India, leaving customers with fewer choices between entry-level individual plans and higher-priced family plans. The telecom operator has not issued any official statement explaining the change, but the plan is no longer available on Airtel's website or through the Airtel Thanks application.
Following the removal of the Rs. 549 option, new postpaid subscribers are now directed towards either the Rs. 449 individual plan or the Rs. 699 Family plan. Airtel's remaining postpaid portfolio continues to remain unchanged, with customers seeking more benefits now required to make a larger jump from the entry-level plan to the family category.
The Rs. 449 individual postpaid plan remains Airtel's lowest-priced postpaid offering. It provides unlimited 4G and 5G data, unlimited local, STD, and national roaming calls, along with 100 SMS per day. The plan also includes additional benefits such as Google One cloud storage, Airtel Xstream Play Premium access, Adobe Express Premium, free Hello Tunes, and the Blue Ribbon Bag tracking service.

The plan also includes Airtel's security features, including fraud link blocking, spam protection, and OTP alerts. These bundled services are aimed at providing additional digital safety benefits alongside regular telecom services.
Customers looking for a higher-value option will now have to choose the Rs. 699 Family plan, which includes one primary SIM and one free add-on connection. The plan effectively reduces the per-user cost for two members while offering unlimited 4G and 5G data, unlimited calling, and daily SMS benefits. It also comes with entertainment and digital services such as Amazon Prime Mobile, JioHotstar Mobile, Google One storage, Airtel Xstream Play Premium, and Adobe Express Premium.
Airtel continues to offer higher-priced family plans, including the Rs. 999, Rs. 1,199, Rs. 1,399, and Rs. 1,749 options, which provide additional add-on SIM connections and more premium benefits. These plans include extra entertainment subscriptions such as Apple TV+ and Netflix, along with Airtel's standard data, calling, and security features.
