Air India Ranks Among Top Five Global Airlines For On-Time Performance In June
Air India achieves global top-five ranking for flight punctuality.
Air India has secured the fourth position among the world’s most punctual airlines in June 2026, becoming the only Indian carrier to feature in the top five of Cirium’s latest global On-Time Performance (OTP) rankings. The Tata Group-owned airline recorded significant improvements in operational reliability, marking progress in its ongoing transformation programme.
According to Cirium’s June 2026 OTP report, Air India achieved an on-time arrival rate of 86.85 per cent across 15,135 flights operated during the month. The airline also reported an on-time departure rate of 86.23 per cent, reflecting improved consistency across its domestic and international flight network.
Air India recorded a completion factor of 99.7 per cent during the period, indicating that nearly all scheduled flights were successfully operated without cancellations. Completion rates and punctuality figures are considered important indicators of an airline’s operational strength, network stability and ability to manage large-scale flight operations efficiently.

In the global rankings, Air India was placed behind Saudia Airlines, Korean Air and Aeromexico, while Singapore Airlines completed the top five list. Cirium’s On-Time Performance rankings are widely used in the aviation industry and evaluate airlines based on scheduled flight timings compared with actual arrival and departure performance.
The latest performance comes as Air India continues efforts under its multi-year transformation plan after returning to the Tata Group. The programme focuses on modernising the airline’s fleet, improving passenger experience, strengthening operational systems and enhancing overall efficiency across its network.
Improved punctuality is seen as a key factor influencing passenger satisfaction, airline costs and competitiveness in the aviation sector. Air India’s June performance indicates that its operational improvements are beginning to deliver measurable results, as the airline works towards strengthening its position in global aviation.
