AI Startup CEOs Hail India’s Rising Global Role After PM Modi Meet

AI founders commend India’s innovation ecosystem after meeting PM Modi.

Chief Executives of leading artificial intelligence and deep-tech startups have praised India’s innovation ecosystem after a roundtable meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the India AI Impact Summit. The interaction highlighted India’s rising influence in global AI development and the government’s focus on nurturing cutting-edge technologies.

According to an official statement, Prime Minister Modi emphasised the importance of promoting Indian languages and cultural diversity through AI-driven tools. He encouraged the expansion of artificial intelligence applications in higher education, particularly in mother tongues, to make advanced learning more accessible and inclusive across the country.

The participating startups are addressing large-scale challenges across sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, cybersecurity, ethical AI, and space technology. Several companies are also working on solutions aimed at social empowerment, including vernacular access to justice and education, ethical AI governance models, and the modernisation of legacy enterprise systems.

During the discussion, the Prime Minister highlighted the potential of AI in agriculture and environmental protection. He spoke about leveraging technology to monitor crop productivity, optimise fertiliser usage, and safeguard soil health. He also stressed the need for strong data governance frameworks and responsible AI deployment to combat misinformation and ensure solutions are tailored to India’s unique needs.

The startup leaders described India’s current ecosystem as supportive and dynamic, noting increased investor interest and a growing global shift toward India in AI innovation. Referring to the success of Unified Payments Interface as a model of scalable digital innovation, the Prime Minister expressed confidence in domestic companies and called for greater private sector participation, particularly in emerging sectors such as space technology.
