Adani Group Powers Ahead With Record Solar, Wind, and Green Hydrogen Expansion
Adani Group’s clean energy units hit record milestones in 2025, scaling solar, wind, and green hydrogen capacity.
The Adani Group's clean energy verticals recorded a transformative year in 2025, achieving unprecedented scale, technological breakthroughs, and pioneering projects that have solidified its position as a global leader in the energy transition. Adani Solar marked a historic milestone by crossing 15,000 megawatts (MW) in cumulative module shipments, becoming the first and fastest Indian manufacturer to reach this level. The achievement underscores the rapid growth of Adani's solar manufacturing ecosystem, which has expanded significantly over the past few years.
Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), the group's renewable energy arm, continued its aggressive capacity addition, commissioning large-scale solar and wind projects across multiple states. The company also advanced its green hydrogen ambitions, with key pilot and commercial-scale developments progressing toward operational readiness. These efforts are part of Adani's broader commitment to building a fully integrated clean energy ecosystem—from manufacturing solar modules and wind turbines to generating renewable power and producing green hydrogen at scale.
The group's performance in 2025 was driven by a combination of domestic demand, favorable policy support under India's renewable energy targets, and strategic investments in cutting-edge technology. Adani Solar's module shipments have been particularly noteworthy, with the company achieving the 15 GW milestone faster than any other Indian player, reflecting improvements in production efficiency, supply chain localization, and quality standards.

Looking ahead to 2026, the Adani clean energy businesses plan to deepen localization efforts, further reducing dependence on imported components and strengthening the 'Make in India' initiative in the sector. This includes ramping up domestic manufacturing of solar cells, modules, wind turbine components, and electrolyzers for green hydrogen production. The group aims to support India's goal of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 while positioning itself as a major exporter of clean energy equipment and technology.
Industry observers view 2025 as a breakout year for Adani's renewable portfolio, with record execution, first-mover advantages in green hydrogen, and significant contributions to India's net-zero ambitions. The milestones achieved by Adani Solar and AGEL highlight the conglomerate's pivotal role in accelerating the shift toward sustainable energy at both national and global levels. As localization deepens and new projects come online in 2026, Adani is well-positioned to maintain its leadership in the clean energy space.
