30 Civilians, Seven Iranian Soldiers Killed In US Air Strikes

Air strikes reportedly cause civilian and military casualties.

At least 30 civilians and seven Iranian military personnel have been killed in a fresh wave of US air strikes across southern Iran, according to Iranian officials, as tensions between Washington and Tehran entered the fifth day of escalating conflict. Iranian authorities said the attacks caused significant casualties and damage to several military and civilian-linked locations, while warning that further responses could follow.

Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said more than 30 civilians had died in the strikes carried out over the past several days. In a statement shared on social media platform X, she expressed condolences to the families of those killed and said the government would continue supporting affected citizens. She described southern Iran as a key region of the country and assured residents that authorities were responding to the situation.

Separately, the Iranian army reported that US missiles struck the Bambour (Bampour) Garrison in Iranshahr, killing seven personnel from the 388th Brigade and injuring several others. According to Iran’s Tasnim news agency, 13 missiles hit parts of the military facility, including a guesthouse, guard posts and accommodation areas. The Iranian military described the attack as an act of aggression and said a response would be delivered at an appropriate time.

Authorities in Bushehr also reported strikes on multiple locations in the western port city. Governor Mohammad Mozafari said four areas were hit by US projectiles on Tuesday but no casualties were reported. He added that emergency agencies remained on alert while the situation in the city was under control. Meanwhile, Iran’s Health Ministry said more than 260 people were injured in the latest attacks, with most already discharged after receiving medical treatment.

The escalation follows a series of US military operations targeting Iranian positions and increased pressure on Tehran, including measures affecting maritime activity around Iran’s ports. Iranian officials have accused the US strikes of causing civilian harm, while the broader conflict has raised concerns over regional security and potential disruptions to energy routes. Iran’s authorities have also taken precautionary measures, including relocating examination centres near military and sensitive locations to safer venues. As the situation continues to develop, both sides remain engaged in a tense confrontation with international observers closely monitoring the consequences of the strikes. The latest casualties add to growing concerns over civilian safety and the possibility of further military escalation in the region.
