20% Jump: Toyota Sells 34,034 Units in February 2026
Toyota Kirloskar Motor sold 34,034 units in February 2026, up 20% from last year, with domestic sales at 30,737 and exports surging 65%.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), the Indian arm of the Japanese automaker, reported robust sales performance for February 2026, dispatching a total of 34,034 units to dealers—a 20 per cent year-on-year increase from 28,414 units sold in February 2025. The growth was driven by strong domestic demand and a significant surge in exports, reflecting sustained consumer interest in Toyota's lineup amid a competitive passenger vehicle market. Domestic sales reached 30,737 units, up 16 per cent from 26,414 units a year earlier, while exports jumped 65 per cent to 3,297 units from 2,000 units in the previous February.
The positive momentum builds on TKM's earlier results in calendar year 2026, with January sales of 33,880 units marking a 15 per cent year-on-year rise. For the first two months combined, total dispatches stood at 67,914 units, an 18 per cent improvement over the corresponding period in 2025. Company executives attributed the February performance to consistent customer trust in Toyota's reputation for quality, reliability, and superior ownership experience, with demand holding firm across sedans, SUVs, and multi-purpose vehicles despite broader economic uncertainties.
Key models such as the Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross, Fortuner, and Urban Cruiser Hyryder continued to contribute substantially to volumes, benefiting from their strong positioning in the premium and family-oriented segments. The sharp export growth highlights TKM's expanding role in global supply chains, with shipments likely directed to regional markets where Toyota vehicles enjoy high demand. This performance aligns with trends among several Indian automakers in February 2026, where multiple players—including Kia, Renault, JSW MG, and Tata—posted double-digit gains amid recovering consumer sentiment and portfolio strength in SUVs and electrified options.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor operates manufacturing facilities in Bidadi near Bengaluru, producing a range of vehicles tailored to Indian preferences while adhering to global quality standards. The company's focus on hybrid technology, safety features, and after-sales service has helped it maintain loyalty in a market dominated by aggressive competition from domestic and international brands. Amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia affecting global supply chains and oil prices, the automotive sector's resilience in India—evident in these figures—offers a positive counterpoint.
As TKM looks ahead, executives expressed confidence in continued growth, supported by new model introductions, enhanced dealership networks, and investments in sustainable mobility. The February results underscore Toyota's strengthening foothold in India's fast-growing passenger vehicle segment, where steady expansion in both domestic and export channels positions the brand for further gains in the coming months. Industry observers will monitor how these trends evolve amid fluctuating fuel costs and shifting buyer preferences toward greener alternatives.
