#BiharPolls: PM Modi, Shah, Kharge Headline High-Stakes Rallies Ahead of Phase One Voting
Bihar heats up as PM Modi, Shah, Kharge, and Priyanka lead marathon rallies across the state ahead of Phase One polls.
Hectic campaigning intensifies in Bihar ahead of the state assembly elections, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge among the top political leaders scheduled to address multiple public rallies across the state on November 3, 2025. As the first phase of voting approaches on November 6, these high-profile events underscore the fierce competition between the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the opposition Mahagathbandhan, with candidates vying for seats in 243 constituencies. The rallies, expected to draw massive crowds in rural and semi-urban pockets, reflect the high stakes in a state where caste dynamics, development promises, and anti-incumbency sentiments continue to shape voter preferences.
Prime Minister Modi, the NDA's star campaigner, will headline back-to-back addresses in Saharsa and Katihar districts, building on the momentum from his mega roadshow in Patna the previous evening, which saw thousands lining the streets amid chants and cultural displays. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, a key strategist for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is slated to energise supporters in Sheohar, Sitamarhi, and Madhubani, focusing on themes of security, infrastructure, and welfare schemes that have bolstered the NDA's narrative since the 2020 polls. Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will counter with a rally in Vaishali, a historic seat linked to ancient Indian lore, aiming to consolidate the opposition's push against perceived governance lapses under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's coalition.
Adding to the star power, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is set to address rallies in Sonbarsa and Lakhisarai, followed by a high-visibility roadshow in Rosera, leveraging her appeal among women and youth voters disillusioned by economic pressures like unemployment and inflation. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, representing the BJP's aggressive Hindutva flank, will cover four rallies in Patna, Saran, and Muzaffarpur, emphasising law-and-order successes and cultural connectivity between UP and Bihar. These cross-state incursions highlight the BJP's strategy to portray a unified northern bloc, contrasting with the opposition's fragmented alliances.

The second phase of polling on November 11 will cover the remaining seats, with vote counting scheduled for November 14, potentially deciding the fate of Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United)-led government amid whispers of realignments. Recent surveys indicate a neck-and-neck race, with the NDA projected to secure 120-140 seats in the 243-member assembly, according to a JVC poll, while the Mahagathbandhan may clinch 93-112; vote shares hover closely at 41-43% for the NDA versus 39-41% for the opposition.
The NDA is banking on Modi's charisma and Shah's organisational prowess, while the Mahagathbandhan eyes gains from Tejashwi Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal. As dust settles from Sunday's events—including Modi's speeches in Bhojpur and Nawada—these Monday rallies could sway undecided voters in key battlegrounds, amplifying the national spotlight on Bihar's electoral theatre.
