Mars Petcare and Swiggy Instamart Expand Winter Shelters for Community Dogs

Mars Petcare and Swiggy Instamart have extended their Paw Protecc Initiative to provide winter shelters for community dogs and cats across Delhi NCR and Indore.
In its third phase, the initiative deployed over 200 mobile shelters in January, offering much-needed refuge from harsh weather conditions for the benefit of individual caregivers and NGOs. Since its launch in August 2023, Paw Protecc has deployed 500 shelters across Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, benefiting countless community animals.
Building on the success of its monsoon phase, Paw Protecc provides shelters to protect animals from extreme cold and pollution. The shelters, strategically placed at common feeding spots, serve as lifelines for street animals, ensuring warmth, safety, and access to food and water. Friendicoes SECA has partnered with Mars Petcare to maintain these shelters.
This third leg of the initiative aimed to provide essential warmth and comfort to community dogs and cats, helping them brave the winter season. With pollution levels adding to the health challenges faced by street animals, these strategically placed shelters became critical lifelines, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Salil Murthy, Managing Director, Mars Petcare India, emphasized the company’s commitment to community animals, stating, “Every life matters, and through this initiative, we extend kindness and protection to those who have no one else looking out for them.”
